December 3, 2008

GARSON GOLD CORP. (TSX VENTURE:GG) ("Garson Gold" or "the Company") is pleased to announce completion of the 25,000 metre (m) 2008 drill program on its New Britannia Mine property in Snow Lake, Manitoba. The program tested four zones including the No. 3 Zone, Kim Zone, Boundary Zone, and the Upper Rattan Zone in the Main Mine area. Highlights of the campaign include:

  • Expansion of the No. 3 Zone gold resource to:
    • 85,000 oz (394,000 tonnes @ 6.72 g/t gold) in the Indicated category, and a further
    • 117,000 oz (575,000 tonnes @ 6.31 g/t gold) in the Inferred category
  • Expansion of the total property resource inventory (which include the No. 3 Zone resources) to:
    • 449,000 oz (2,605,000 tonnes @ 5.37 g/t gold) in the Measured and Indicated categories and
    • 317,000 oz (1,886,000 tonnes @ 5.22 g/t gold) in the Inferred category
  • Identification of near-surface gold mineralization with open-pit resource potential at the Boundary Zone including:
    • 2.18 g/t gold over 38.5 m from hole BDY08-81 (news release dated November 18, 2008)
    • Hole BDY08-77 included the intersection of multiple mineralized lenses including a 48.77 m intersection with an average grade of 2.43 g/t gold (news release dated October 30, 2008)
  • Discovery of deeper, high-grade resource potential at the Boundary Zone including:
    • 15.66 g/t gold over 2.90 m in diamond drill hole BDY0827 (news release dated April 1, 2008) and
    • 15.08 g/t gold over 3.35 m in diamond drill hole BDY08-32 (news release dated May 27, 2008)
  • The intersection of several significant gold intercepts at the Kim Zone including
    • 7.00 g/t gold over 2.10 m in hole ZN307-15 (news release November 29, 2007), and
    • 7.08 g/t gold over 4.54 m in hole KIM08-01 (news release May 27, 2008),
  • The intersection of several significant gold intercepts at the Upper Ruttan Zone at the Main Mine area including:
    • 16.2 g/t gold over 3.11 m in hole HB07-36 (news release dated February 12, 2008) and
    • 5.25 g/t gold over 6.52 m from hole HB08-42 (news release dated November 18th)

David Tafel, President and Director of Garson comments, "We are very pleased with the results of the recently completed 2008 drill program at NBM. Focused drilling and exploration over the past eighteen months have confirmed the expansion of previously known mineralized zones and exposed previously unrecognized mineralization. These developments bode well for the 2009 program and our plans to re-activate gold production on the New Britannia Mine Property."

The Company is nearing completion of a preliminary economic assessment regarding the re-establishment of mining at No. 3 Zone by re-opening and extending the existing ramp and re-activating the 2,150 tonne/day mill which is currently on care and maintenance. Delineation of gold resources at Boundary Zone could significantly impact future plans for the property as this target is located approximately 500 m south of the No. 3 Zone and approximately 1 kilometer (km) from the New Britannia main mine and mill complex.

The Company also recently completed a field exploration program of geological mapping, prospecting, trenching, and soil sampling. The results of this program are being integrated into the property-wide data compilation and earlier stage drill targets have already been identified.

In the near term, the Company will focus on the evaluation of recently completed drill results including the expansion of the No. 3 Zone resource which remains open at depth, evaluation of the resource potential at Boundary Zone, and planning the follow-up of other positive drill results at the Main Mine and the Kim Zone.

amie Lavigne, M.Sc., P.Geo and Vice President Exploration for Garson Gold, is the Qualified Person under NI 43-101 responsible for the verification and quality assurance of the NBM exploration data and analytical results and has read and approved the technical contents of this news release.
