Benton Commences Drilling On Deloro Option In Heart Of Timmins Gold Camp
April 22, 2010
Benton Resources Corp. has initiated the third phase of drilling on the Deloro option located in Timmins, Ont.
The drill program will target the North Zone which represents the western strike extension of the past-producing Delnite gold mine. The Delnite mine produced approximately 930,000 ounces of gold between 1937 and 1988. Recent drilling by Benton on the South zone has shown promising results including 8.57 grams per tonne over 3.5 metres and will also be subject to further drilling later in the year. The company believes the project has excellent potential to host significant gold mineralization as it lies directly along strike and situated within five kilometres of more than 20 million ounces of past gold production and only 900 metres west of the Delnite mine. Drill results will be released as they are received and compiled.
Clinton Barr, PGeo, vice-president, exploration, for Benton, is the qualified person responsible for this release.
